Oh, I don't know, I don't think that's very fair to Corinne. She never would have cheated on Tim, it's just that the sap preferred God instead.

What a schmuck.

We'll never see a series finale tying up all the storylines.

Yeah, that is really depressing. After a series has been off for as long as "Soap" has (27 plus years), too many of the cast has usually passed away to really make a believable and meaningful last hurrah.

In this case, Richard Mulligan, Cathryn Damon, Arthur Peterson, and Roscoe Lee Browne have all passed on and Robert Guillame is in poor health. I don't see how it's possible to do any kind of "Soap" reunion with "Burt and Mary" both gone. Plus, honestly...too much time has passed. I can't even remember much of what was going on at the end of the show, except that Jessica had been placed up against a firing squad because of her involvement with "El Puerco" (!).
The fourth season wasn't nearly as good as the previous three, IMHO.

But my memories of the show are uniformly good ones. When it worked, it really made me laugh till I cried, and the dramatic moments of the show were often surprisingly moving.

Hey, if I'd had the affair with El Puerco (), it would've been worth it. Seriously, it would be nice if the surviving cast members could do a retrospective. Would Billy Crystal do it??

Hard to say. He's the only one who's become a "big star"; I'd wager most of the rest would. It's too bad that so many of these talented people (Ted Wass, Diana Canova, Jennifer Salt, et al...) weren't able to find more palatable success after the show ended.

Then again, they may very well be successful in fields other than TV; I've kind of lost track of most of them. But I agree, I'd love to see them sitting around and chatting a la the "M*A*S*H" reunion of a few years back.

In a later episode of Benson, there is a visit by Jessica's ghost where she says she's in a coma in South America where she presumably met her fate at the end of season 4. Yet, I heard that if the show went to a season 5, the family was going to rescue her by placing blanks in the firing squad's rifles. A real ending would have been nice.

As for things you will never see or hear, how about Chuck finally realizing that Bob is indeed just a dummy and gives up his ventriloquist career?

Jennifer Salt did become a writer for Nip/Tuck.
