Amen!

When I was younger and watched it, my favorite characters were Chuck and Bob, Danny and Elaine and Burt and Mary. Whether loving or fighting, I just thought Danny and Elaine had fantastic Chemistry, and thought it interesting how they got together in the first place (so Danny could leave the mob and not have to do it in a pine box). Chuck and Bob were just so quick-witted. Loved them. And Burt and Mary because Burt was so funny and Mary was so stable and sane, and was a great mother, wife and sister.

Now that I'm older and have watched the shows on DVD, Burt and Mary are tied for first place with me.To me, it's all about those two. Mary is so beautiful, caring, and she loves her family NO MATTER WHAT.She has unconditional love for all of them. Burt is just soooo funny and has a huge heart. I love these two characters.

Danny Dallas! He may have been a mobster but wow, was he good-looking!

I also liked Jessica and Benson a lot, although I must admit I like Benson's character more on his own show. Since he's the main character you get a lot more insight to his personality and talents.

I have to say Gregory Sierra as El Puerco because he was always a hottie. I must admit I was jealous of Katherine Helmond's Jessica. I wanted to be her so he could carry me in the tent and row me in the canoe!!

Speaking of Katherine Helmond, I would count her Jessica as my favorite female character. She was so wacky, but so vulnerable at the same time. You just wanted to be her friend. I've enjoyed her in every role I've seen her in. I was amazed at her dark, dramatic turn as Elizabeth Montgomery's sister in The Legend of Lizzie Borden.

My favourite character is Timothy Flotsky. Sal Viscuso is a comic genious. I wish they would have kept him on the show. I loved him & Corinne together. I also like Burt, Danny, Elaine & of course Jody.

I'm gonna go with Benson. He had such a dry wit and was an island of normalacy in a sea of madness.

Burt was also pretty amazing; no one on the show had a better sense of comic timing than Richard Mulligan.

And Chuck/Bob were a great combo as well.

Chuck and Bob.

I have to say, I really like Chester too. He's such a git, yet Robert Mandan brings this almost childlike irresponsibility to him that makes him impossible to dislike.

Yes, Robert Mandan is truly one of the most underrated character actors.

Yeah, I always looked forward to Chester's stuff. His pathetic excuses to Jessica, his relationship with Benson, the fact that he really did seem to love Jessica but when it comes to hot young women he's like a kid in a candy store who just can't help himself... Robert Mandan always cracked me up.
