I did read in a 1970 issue of TV GUIDE that Love, American Style was indeed a pilot film for ABC's Movie of the Week. Three stories from the first season, now on DVD, were part of that pilot: Love and a Couple of Couples/Love and the Uncoupled Couple/Love and the Single Couple. All three stories each had a song sung in each story composed by Charles Fox with lyrics by Arnold Margolin.
Seeing the actual pilot of the series would be nice, too. |
