My Favorite Bits from Season One
I've been watching the season one DVDs and my two favorite bits are...
Abbott and Costello are at a diner, but they only have 25 cents. Abbott orders a turkey sandwich and a cup of coffee. He then tells Costello not to order anything, and he'd share his meal with him. However, when the lady (who turns out to be twins) asks Costello what his order is he replies that he doesn't want anything. Abbott then says things like "Come on, it's okay. Order something." Then Costello orders some food and Abbott slaps him in the face. This goes on for a while and I was laughing... hard! Another, Abbott and Costello are at Mr. Bacciagalupe's fruit stand. Costello orders three bananas. Mr. Bacciagalupe hands him two bananas. When Costello tells Bacciagalupe that that's only two, Mr. B says "One banana. Two banana. One banana, two banana, three bananas." Anyways, the real funny part is when Costello and Abbott both do a singing version of it. "One-a banana, two-a banana, lol" Also, Besser may not have been a great Stooge, but as Stinky he was HILARIOUS! I wish he was on the show more. And Hillary Brooke was beautiful. Just saying. |
