Default Going to get old after a while

If every episode is going to be about Jake and Dylan getting together, it's just going to become boring.

I agree. If you're going to build the show around only one idea, things will get stale very quickly.
Look at a show like "Cheers." You knew Sam and Diane would be getting together, but there was such a rich supporting cast, that they were able to devote time to other characters, so it took a while for the whole Sam/Diane thing to build.
It's almost as if the folks at "GMM" know they won't have a long series run, so they're going to give the audience what they want right away. The least they could do is wait until sweeps week!

I've watched this show twice and I must say it is not funny, the characters are unrealistic (not that that is a necessity), and the whole premise and atmosphere is just stale and boring.

It's just an opinion people, and I have a feeling most of you who like it are under 20 years old.

And I got news for you- a cushy Thursday spot does not a good sitcom make.

See- Single Guy, Suddenly Susan, Jessie, Veronica's Closet, etc.
They lasted more than one season, but the critics did not like one of them.

How come when someone says a show is unrelaistic it turns out to me like my life? This show IS my life give or take a nun and the talk show setting!

We knew they would get together on Cheers but every episode was not about them getting together. Here every promo I see is, will Dylan and Jake get together. Stay tuned. That is gonna get too boring, they should focus on the other characters and only bring up the Jake and Dylan thing once in a while.

Correct. They need to flesh out the other characters. After all, there are other characters on this show.

The other thing I meant to hit upon with my "Cheers" analogy was Sam and Diane didn't start out with an attraction towards one another. They became interested in the other over a period of time. On "GMM" it is established in episode one that Jake has the major hots for Dylan.
No sparring, no arguing... The things that makea sitcom romance so great has been eliminated.
No fighting and bickering. You call that love?

I do agree that they need to expand on some of the supporting characters...i.e. the nun, Frank, Gavin, Lucia, Penny, etc, if the show is to last a long run, however, I do still enjoy the show and look forward to future episodes. On the plus side, we did get to see a bit more about Gavin on the last episode, and he's starting to seem more like a person, despite being a pompous idiot...

I don't think it is getting old. For me it has gotten better every episode.
