What's interesting is that they left the part in when Kip comes into the office all hyped up about his date with Sonny, and is singing "It's Not Unusual" by Tom Jones(this is also from the episode "Loathe Thy Neighbor").
I don't get it, does it really cost a series money to sing one line from a song? That's just insane.. I always thought it only made a difference if an actual song was played, and even in the case of the "Bosom Buddies" original theme song, "My Life", they never used the Billy Joel version, but a rerecorded version featuring the cast(supposedly); how expensive could that be to keep in? |

I noticed another cut on the season 1 set. "Cahoots" is missing the part where "Hildegarde" sings "16 Tons" for about 11 seconds. This happens right before Hildegarde tries to get into his apartment and realizes the lock on his door has been changed and Amy invites him into her apartment.

Not really a question about a cut pertaining to music rights, but did "Cahoots" originally have a tag scene? If so, it's not present on the DVD.

Looking forward to seeing season one on DVD--just ordered it today for free (thanks Pepsi Stuff!). I'm not crazy about the "Shake me Loose" theme song, but that's not the main reason to watch the show anyway

Watched it all in one weekend. Had the actor's strike not happened, we would have maybe seen a full season of 22 episodes, rather than just 19. The season was half over before they started using the "intro monologue" of how the two guys got to the Susan B. Anthony. Looking forward to getting season 2!!
