I'll try, but you'll need to help fill in the blanks:

Season 1 theme lyrics:

We're the Good Guys who never let a friend down
Friends forever, ask anyone in this town
When you're in a tussle, need some muscle
I'll be there at your side
And if you're _ _ _
I will see that your soon untied
If you want my shirt, I will give it with pride
When you're up the creek, I'll swim out
And then will paddle up when you shout
I will saddle up _ _ _
_ _ _, and I know you'll reciprocate
Head to toe, because we're Two Good Guys!

Season 2:

I'm a Good Guy, hey, you're another one, too.
Like a brother, each to the other one, true blue.
When there's trouble, then we're a double
Sticking out a double-type chin
And when our ship comes in
Then we're gonna be fat, not thin
Even if it's just by the teeth of our skin
When you think of those heroes you
Might've read about,
Good guys who things are said about
Very few, I imagine just like I do
And I'm gonna have faith in you
Cause you're a Good Guy, too!

Now, help us out, somebody with a good ear or memory, and fill in the blanks!

PS: The Season 2 opening was my favorite, especially the photos presumably of the guys as babies and kids. Matched well with the lyrics.

Thanks Joe - I always liked that theme song, I thought it had a great tune......
I think it would be interesting to see this show again...if TV Land can put those idiotic Puf n Stuff shows on, it'd be nice to see this show again...it lasted two seasons, so there are probably between 50 & 60 epiodes.

Thanks for the response & your input, Tweety.

I suppose the only way we'll ever figure out the lyrics would be to come across the person who penned them or a copy of the sheet music. Now, there would be a challenge. Guess it wouldn't hurt to shoot these questions to Bob Denver via his website. As time allows, I will do just that & see what happens. You'd think that, by now, one or both of these themes would've turned up on one of those "TV tunes" CDs. Again, thanks!

Thanks to you too...I know way more about the lyrics that I did before...

I actually did email Bob Denver at his website with that very question...that was several months ago, but to date, I have not received a reply...

I'll probably try posting that question to Bob again, just to see if I get a response... If I do, or if I come across any other source for the lyrics, I'll shoot right over to this page and post the results...

It's been a while, but for anyone who's interested, here's a page with what looks like a pretty good guess at the lyrics (for season 1 and 2)

http://www.tvobscurities.com/articles/good_guys.php

We're the good guys, who
Never let a friend down.
Friends forever, ask anyone in this town.
When you're in a tussle, need some muscle,
I'll be there at your side.
And if you hung yourself,
I will see that you're soon untied.

If you want my shirt,
I will give it with pride.
When you're up the creek, I'll swim out
And then will paddle up.
When you shout, I will saddle up.
Blow by blow, I'll be with you, mate.
And I know, you'll reciprocate.
Head to toe, we'll be two good guys.

Youtube has the opening of season 1 (along with the pilot episode), just go to youtube and search "good guys bob denver"

Lyrics for Season 2 opening:

I'm a good guy, hey, you're another one too.
Like a brother, each to the other one, true blue
When there's trouble, we're a double
Stickin' out our double nut chin.
But when our ship comes in,
Then we're gonna be fat, not thin.
Even if it's just by the teeth of our skin.

When you think of those heroes who,
Things are said about.
Good guys you mighta' read about.
Very few had a magic touch like I do.
And I've gotta put faith in you.
'Cause you're a good guy too.

The site listing these lyrics also can play the themes, but the audio quality is not the greatest.

I don't see anything on youtube for the season 2 opening, only season one.
