It seems like the producers couldn't decide if they wanted it to be family friendly or more adult oriented. If you notice within the episodes and storylines, they rotate (one episode storylines center around the kids, another one centers around Thea). I don't think this show was trying to be a black Roseanne. Roseanne dealt with more serious issues such as a struggling working family mixed in with comic relief. Thea really didn't have those moments.

I also think there was considerable pressure on the show given the timeslot. An 8pm show is expected to bring in the viewers for the night and I doubt Thea was that strong on the comedy circuit to pull something like that.

After seeing this show for the first time since 1993 & 1994.. It's crazy to see all of the guest stars from other shows that appeared on Thea. Like Michelle Thomas from Family Matters,Countess Vaughn from Moesha,Omar Gooding just to name a few & the mother from Jamie Foxx.

The show was centered around Thea and her kids, so most likely some episodes would be about Thea and some about her kids.

I don't think that Thea and Roseanne are anything a like. Both shows dealt with different issues and the kids weren't anything a like. The only thing that Thea and Roseanne had in common was that they were both hard working women.

Are they still showing this on BET? Because it didn't air last Saturday and I'm missing 2 episodes to complete my Thea DVD collection. I'm recording them off TV.

I don't think BET is airing the show anymore, they aired the remaining eps on Mother's Day and now I have all of them. Just let me know what eps you need and we can set somthing up

Thea was replaced on Saturday Mornings by the Parkers

Solomon, did you see the rest of the episodes? What did you think of Thea in the restaurant business? Nice to see Cal (Dennis Burkley) from Sanford on the show.

I liked them...also liked the one with Myra from Family Matters.
