I find it funny Redd Foxx never guest starred on Amen........
.....and Whitman Mayo and Lawanda Page did. He was still alive when Amen was still in production. Something stopped him from guest starring and I am sure he was offered. I know Sherman Helmsley wanted to work with him at least once.

Redd finally did work with Carroll O'Connor in early 1986 in his short lived Redd Foxx Show. I'm not sure why he didn't guest star on Amen. He would have been great.

Whitman Mayo & Beah Richards (aka Aunt Ethel) also played Marla Gibbs' parents on 227. They fought like cats and dogs during their entire 50th anniversary party.
