Default ABC Courting Old Christine

ABC may exhibit questionable judgment when it comes to its own half-hour comedies (i.e., Caveman, Carpoolers, According to Jim, etc.), but the network sure has impeccable taste when it concerns its competitors' sitcoms.

Case in point: On the heels of the Alphabet's (almost official) acquisition of NBC's brilliant-but-nearly canceled Scrubs, sources are telling me that the net is making a play for Julia Louis-Dreyfus' hilarious Seinfeld-curse-busting comeback vehicle, The New Adventures of Old Christine!

According to several insiders, all of whom asked not to be identified because they would prefer to keep their jobs, execs at ABC have been engaged in informal talks with Warner Bros. Television about picking up Old Christine should CBS decide not to renew it. The third-year laffer, which earned its highest ratings of the season this week, remains very much on the bubble at CBS.

Reps at ABC and Warner Bros. were unavailable for comment

What is with ABC trying to go for everyone else's sitcoms lately? Scrubs from NBC, Christine from CBS. I wonder if Back to You was cancelled, they'd try to go for that one (chances are they would-LOL). They could make a nice block of sitcoms - they could call it "The Sitcoms From Other Networks Block."

I'm sure CBS will renew it though, whether it's for a full season or midseason.

This is a pretty average sit com reminds me of Cybil, not really funny. They should lose the cast only keep Christine and the African American. I watch the show when it's on. I only watch Sit Coms on TV but can't remember the characters name on this show. The great/good shows i can like 3rd Rock From The Sun,Married With Children,Cheers and others.

I thought Old Christine was doing pretty well on CBS.

Considering ABC tried to sell us a show about friggin cavemen, maybe they should turn to the other networks for programs that are actually good.

If you can't beat em, buy em!
