Post It's like, you know...

I read almost all the pages on this message-board and only ONCE this sitcom was mentioned in a post. Has nobody ever heard about this great series? Nobody watched it?

It's just great, this sitcom, from the creators of 'Seinfeld', only this time it's actually funny!
It's about Arthur (Chris Eigeman), a New Yorker, who stays a while in L.A. with his best friend and former-New Yorker Robbie (Steven Eckholdt) to write the book "L.A. How can you stomach it?" There are also Robbie's rich friend Shrug (Evan Handler) and his next-door neighboor Jennifer Grey (as herself) to make it even funnier. In many ways this is also a 'show about nothing' but it's funny because of the absurde situations.

Unfortunately cancelled to soon, without a proper finale. So now I'll never know what became of Arthur's crush on L.A.er Lauren (A.J. Langer), who only wanted to be friends with Artie...

It wasn't a bad show. I did find it amusing from time to time. I did like that Jennifer Gray was able to poke fun at herself.

I do think it deserved more of a chance. I guess the viewing audience would rather have watched "a show about nothing" set in NYC instead of one set out in L.A.

I HATE Seinfeld, so I didn't figure I'd like "It's Like... You Know." To my shock, I loved it. However, it seemed to be one of those cases where the network wasn't thrilled with it (hence the reason I'm never thrilled with the networks...). 7 of the episodes were never broadcast in the USA, but have been aired overseas. It's such a waste that they pay the money to have episodes of good shows made, then neglect to air them....

You hate Seinfeld? I love it. What are your reasons for hating it?

I don't "hate" Seinfeld. I "hate" bin Laden, war, criminals, pollution and junk-mail. But I "dislike" Seinfeld...

The reason is simple: I just don't think it's funny. The show is called 'a show about nothing', that's ok with me, so was It's like, you know... But ILYK was funny, had great jokes, great over-reacted story-lines and great absurde situations (even absurder then those in Seinfeld) and ILYK had great characters; everything Seinfeld, in my eyes, had not.

I couldn't identify with the characters, they were like cartoon-characters to me, they had no personality. With Athur form ILYK I at least could identify with...

So, all in all, it was just not funny.

Cool

I thought this show was very funny. It was well written and quickly became appointment television for me. I was very dissappointed when it was cancelled. They finally put a good show on the air and then thet cancel it to make room for more garbage!!!!! Go figure!!
