Yes it is too bad about Cold Case files. A and E has some good shows in Cold Case files and American Justice as well as City Confidential IMO. I am also a fan of Dog the Bounty hunter but from what I have seen either you love that show or totally hate it. As for cops yes, I like the show but I can see why some dislike it. I know that a lot of people actually want to become cops because they think it will be like the show COPS. They come to find out the job is no where near what it is like on the show. Actually I think the people that film and produce COPS ride along with these cops from different agencies for entire shifts so they have 8, 10, 12 plus hours of footage and they air about 25 minutes of it, so they probably only air the exciting or unusual parts of it and dont show the other 10 hours of footage which is just routine patrol of mostly coffee drinking, riding around in the squad and issuing minor traffic tickets and maybe getting drunk drivers.

I don't mind COPS. It can be pretty entertaining. But, it's definately too bad about Cold Case Files. It's sad when one sees a classic 'real' reality crime show cease production. I guess they're trying to reach a 'target-market' with those other reality shows like Airline and Dog the Bounty Hunter. I don't know, I'm not saying there's anything wrong with those shows but as for myself, I just can't get into them. (Bring back UM and CCF!) Oh well, I guess there's always the re-runs and the Box Sets to turn to.

I did not know that Cold Case was to be discontinued. This is one program i always wait for - they take all the good ones away - and leave us with cops and robbers and attorney programs. I am so tired of all the lawyer and crime programs....where are the human interest shows.

I personally know Thom Gossom, Jr. the black man who plays the detective on Cold Case. I met him at the Emerald Coast Writers Group and then had a long talk with him about something I have been working on. He has a home in the Ft.Walton - Destin, Fl. area. The pictures he shows of his wife on the program are the pictures of his real wife...she attended the conference with him. He is really a super guy.

Thom Gossom, Jr? His Internet Movie Data Base doesn't list him as playing the detective in Cold Case (although he made a guest appearance on that show in 2005). The black detective on the show is played by Thom Barry.

Just so that there's no confusion here, it's the A&E documentary series Cold Case Files that has been discontinued, not the CBS crime drama series Cold Case. In fact, the CBS series has an excellent chance of returning for another season.

Thanks for clearing that up. I only get the regular channels and that is by antenna - so I am unfamiliar with any other Cold Case.

I will call Thom later this week, but I was sure he was the one I met. Perhaps the name Thom stuck with me...even my sister has never corrected me on this and she also says they are the same. I even have his card with his name and everything on it...he wrote his home number on the back of the card.

Maybe I have the wrong series - now I think I am loosing my mind - everyone has expect this with what all has gone on in my life. AAAHHHHAAAApht!

that's a shame about COLD CASE. Oh, well. At least we'll have the reruns. Is the show on DVD?

I just hope they don't cancel any of the C.S.I. trilogy.

Again, it was A&E's Cold Case Files that was terminated, not CBS' Cold Case. The former is a documentary; the latter is a crime drama (which, by the way, has a 99.9 percent chance of being renewed for another season).

Cold Case Files (the A&E documentary) is available on DVD. Although I remember discovering it on sale at the now-defunct record store Tower Records, you'd probably have better luck finding it online.

The CBS series Cold Case is unavailable on DVD. Unfortunately, due to the high costs of obtaining additional music rights, that series isn't likely to be released on DVD anytime soon.

All three CSI's are coming back for the fall 2007 season.

Oh, man!!! I agree with most of these posts completely. Why do they always take away the good ones!! No offense to the fans of shows like Dog, King of Cars, Gene Simmons' Jewels and Family whatever, Flip this House, Cops, Psychic Detectives, and CSI but in my perfect channel/world it would be all true-crime, all the time. My first instinct is to hate A&E but when I think about the name of the station it kinda suprises me that there's as much as there is...but hopefully someday someone will launch an all true-crime channel. -Unsolved mysteries, Cold Case Files, Forensic Files, Justice Files, the First 48, Dark Heart Iron Hand, Rescue 911 (?), American Justice, City Confidential, Dominic Dunne: P. P. & J, and all of the true-crime specials covered by Dateline and MSNBC. I'd never leave the house!!!

Personally I didn't like the newer Cold Case Files episodes because of the look of them. I just prefer their older format, but it is pretty bad that they would discontinue their best show besides American Justice and I don't like City Confidential at all. Once they pull CCF, AJ, and Forensic Files, I will get rid of my cable because there is almost never anything on now.

I wonder why. It ran a good 9 years. That's sad.
