Veteran stage and screen actress Augusta Dabney died Feb. 4 in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. She was 89. Best known for her work in daytime soap operas, she played Isabelle Alden on "Loving" for 12 years. She also appeared in "General Hospital," "Another World," "As The World Turns," "Guiding Light," "One Life To Live," "Love Is A Many Splendored Thing" and "The Doctors." She met her second husband, actor William Prince, on "Young Doctor Malone," and he then starred opposite Dabney on four soaps. Born and raised in Berkeley, Calif., she graduated UC Berkeley and attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. She made her stage debut in "Abe Lincoln in Illinois," where she met her first husband, Kevin McCarthy. In the early days of live television, Dabney appeared on such shows as "Kraft Television Theater," "The Philco Television Playhouse," "Studio One" and "Robert Montgomery Presents." Her feature film credits include "Running On Empty," "The Paper," "Violets Are Blue" and "The Heartbreak Kid." She was nominated for a BAFTA award for her role in "That Night." Onstage, she performed on Broadway in "Sacrilege" with Ellen Burstyn, "Children Of A Lesser God," "The Playroom" and "Who's Afraid Of Virginia Woolf." RIP!!
"Loving" needs to find its way to TV again. SOAPnet would be the ideal place for it, but I doubt it'd happen. I always thought that of "Loving" and "Capitol" as two of the most forgotten soaps of all time. They weren't huge ratings winners (CAP was for a short while), but they were still great soaps and deserve some recognition. |

Don't forget about TEXAS....
these shows are not on DVD, so SOAPNET has no interest in them like they are the OC and that other crap and the stupid movies they show....
