Default "MacGyver" S1: "Original Broadcast Episodes"?

I recently purchased "MacGyver" S1 (1985-86) from the Wal-Mart Supercenter in Simpsonville, and on the back at the bottom, there was a notation of "Original Broadcast Episodes." Does this mean that I purchased Paramount's rerelease of the first season's worth of "MacGyver" in an unedited version? Another clue: the discs are silver and lack images of MacGyver's tools.

well, if it says original broadcast episodes, you should be fine.

It seems like the standard for Paramount DVD's from the past year are silver with clear writing. While it is somewhat cheap and uninspired, I do like the uniform idea

That makes me feel pretty good, Dean Winchester. I thank you for the clarification. I happen to like that idea (silver w/clear writing) too. I wouldn't have been happy if I had purchased the edited version (without the "original broadcast" notation on the back). The silver disc color is a great way to differentiate the two releases, and kudos to Paramount for doing that, as well as rereleasing "MacGyver" S1 in an unedited version. They also receive props in my book for including their original "Blue Mtn." logo of the time on the end of the component episodes-- the way I see it, mediocre video/audio quality (with a lack of special features) is a small price to pay for the privilege of seeing one of Paramount's older logos. They did not really have to do that though (include the "Blue Mtn." instead of the Viacom CGI Mtn.), but because they did, it makes "MacGyver" S1, at least to me, a worthwhile purchase.
