Default Anyone else hate the narration?

I cannot stand the narration. It annoys the hell out of me. Maybe it's the English-type accent, or just the the fact that it's there. The show would be much more watchable, I think, without it

I don't mind it, it makes it seem spookier in a way.

It just reminds me of some crazy fairytale everytime I hear it . . . I'd probably watch PD if there was no narration.

Thumbs down

I think it's awful. I don't mind a good voiceover (The Wonder Years, Veronica Mars, etc). This one is just bad.

I know. The voiceover on the Wonder Years was very pleasant and easy to listen to. But, after listening to the guy doing the narration on here, I wanna rip off my ears . . . nothing else on telelvision is so annoying.

And it seems like the narration just keeps going, and going, and going!

I agree. The only reason that kept me from enjoying this show, Pushing Daisies, is that stupid narration. What a way to keep viewers away.

Exactly. This show has a very enjoyable plot, and would probably fun to watch if it was just the actors talking. With this narration, too, he's actually telling us what's going on. In other shows, like TWY, the narrator was telling us about the feelings and the lessons learned. Plus, the voice is more annying than nails on a blackboard.

Ratings have been going down lately for this show, too. I believe it got below 9 million last week. It may have been because of Halloween . . . I'll just wait and see for this week.

I hate to say this because it sounds like I am generalizing, but overall, I am getting annoyed with "british" accents. I think my hate for it started with Simon Cowell from American Idol. Then we have that other british judge on America's Got Talent. Then we have other judges on other shows that are trying to be like Simon Cowell, and they are british as well. You can't seem to get away from it, we are being flooded with british accents and for me it has become very annoying. That is one reason I can't stand the narration on PD.

Also, for the reason you stated, he seems to be telling us everything that is going on. What happened to good ol' good script writing where we don't need to have every little thing mentioned or talked abt, just GET TO THE POINT. Wonder Years was great at this. The Waltons had just a tad of narration IN THE BEGINNING of each episode, but it wasn't overwhelming.

You're right. It seems like every reality show on television has some tough British judge. Dancing with the Stars has that one guy (can never remember his name), American's got Talent (can't remember his name either), and many other shows. It's almost like you can only get good ratings if you have some phony British judge pulling around his weight.

The narrator is just downright annoying. Possible a better, American narrator would do them some good. And he narrates the simplest things too. It's like watching a dog walk under a tree, and the narrator will say "A dog has just walked under a tree." It's insane-LOL. I'm almost hoping to see the ratings continue to drop.

Like when it said "Chuck and Lee Pace's character were pretending to hold hands." We know and besides it sounds messed up from anyone's mouth. But than again, it may be good for blind people who have no idea what's going on on the screen and need a narrator like that. You know?

I highly doubt ABC is looking out for the interest of blind viewers.
