HBO puts Roc in roles, director chair
LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - "Roc" star Charles S. Dutton has signed an exclusive development deal with HBO to act in and direct series, movies and miniseries projects.
Dutton made his directorial debut at the pay cable network with the 1997 original movie "First Time Felon." He went on to direct the acclaimed HBO miniseries "The Corner," for which he received an Emmy for best director. Dutton also made guest appearances on HBO's drama series "The Sopranos" and "Oz." He most recently directed episodes of Showtime's "Sleeper Cell," for which he was nominated for a DGA Award, and the upcoming Lifetime movie "Racing for Time," in which he also stars.
