Default I went ahead and ordered my Six Million Dollar Man..

Season 1 DVD set from Amazon UK. After learning my cheapy Cyberhome dvd player can easily be made to play in any region or a "region free" mode I went ahead after waiting for 6 Million YEARS for some kind of word on a US release for this show. What IS the deal? After watching the Fall Guy set (US) I just HAD to get Steve Austin that man barely alive!!!

So will I regret this? After a week will I get the word that the show will be released in the US? LOL. :/ I paid $37 for this set with shipping it includes the 3 mini movies/pilots (not sure what they are actually) seems a bit high but I am excited.

Anyone else have to resort to this or buy Region 2 stuff...?

Incidently, I don't even own any Region 2 stuff and just used the simple commands from an Amazon review to change my player to Region "0" (though all 6 were an option) so I don't even know whether it WILL work or NOT!! It's the Cyberhome CH DVD 300... any feedback on this out there??

Oh No

I've never heard anything good about a Cyberhome dvd player. When you can find them at Goodwill for $10, You know someone wasn't too happy with it.

I already owned the player, I agree it's not a good quality player in terms of "reliability" but in this case it works fine and apparently the lesser the quality the easier it is to access the region free info so it seems to have worked out.

I couldnt wait to get the 6M$M and The Bionic Woman (both complete series) so I got them off ioffer.com 2 years ago. The quality wasnt the best but for the price 80.00 it was good enough. I finished watching them early this year and I might start up again in January watching 1 episode of each show on saturday or sunday.

THAT'S THE WAY IT USUALLY HAPPENS, THE NEW BIONIC SERIES IS LIKE A
PROMO FOR THE DVD. WHEN THE SHOW IS A HIT. THE STUDIOS WILL RELEASE THE ORGINAL SHOWS.

But were they NOT released all this time b/c of contract disputes or rights issues? That wouldn't be resloved just b/c of a new series...

why HAVEN'T the Bionic Man and Woman series been release din the states as of yet? anyone know 4 sure??

Don't know about the Six Million Dollar Man, but as for The Bionic Woman, this is straight from producer Kenny Johnson's website:

DVD's of the series will not be
released until rights issues have
been resolved between Universal
who owns the film & Dimension
who acquired the underlying
book rights. There is no estimate
as to when that might happen

BTW, it just came today......................! And it works.................!! Run, everyone get your Cyberhome dvd players!! Never thought I'd hear myself say that)

EDIT: Just watched Parts 1 and 2 of the first "pilot" movie and was not let down in the slightest!! It has been years since I've seen this show (in fact I have NEVER SEEN THE PILOT!!), and while I doubt the actual show can maintain this level of "theatrical" quality (as pilots normally have given the time used and the budget given), my $37 was well spent ON THIS ALONE!! Yay ME!!

I'm in Malaysia at the moment and I have seen both Bionic Woman and Six Million Dollar man on dvd. These aren't fakes either. They are region 3 which pretty much play in anything going

Region 3 play in Region One players..? At $43 w/o shipping that's a bit pricy, season 1 is only 13 eppys.

They play on UK players is all I know. Either way I wouldn't trust Malaysian postage... haha.
