Default Brother

One of my favorite hobbies is catching inconsistensies from episode to episode of shows that I watch. I have caught inconsistencies of "dozens" of shows over the years! Later today, I plan on posting messages about inconsistencies regarding "The Brady Bunch" on this site and "The Golden Girls" on a site called "Jump the Shark!" In any event, the inconsistency that I would like to point out here took place in the second season. The episode that it took place in was the one in which Dr. Kaplin got reaquanited with his gay father. Given the things that were said between the doc and his dad, the only way that the episode would make sense would be if he were an only child. I was referring this episode to my brother and he pointed out the fact that, in the previous season, we had an episode in which we met Hank's brother Abraham. I have a vague memory of this episode. I think that it is "amazing" that, in the course of "one year" the writers of the show contradicted themselves! It usually takes a little longer for old writers to retire or die, new writers to come aboard and veteran writers to forget what they had written a while back. Take care everyone!

I hate when that happens. If a writer is going to write for a show, at least keep tabs of important history. It does play a role later. I did see that episode in first broadcast run on NBC on a Saturday evening.

Hello ThomasE! I cannot tell you how flattered I am to "finely" get a response to my message! You mentioned having seen "that episode" on a Saturday Night. However, in my post, I mentioned two episodes that took place on two consecutive seasons. The first one was in season one and in it Hank had a brother. This brother (Abraham) was never seen or heard from again. In season two, we meet the doctor's gay father. In this episode, there were several things that the doc and his dad said to each other that would only make sense if he were an only child. What I am curious about is which of these two controdicting episodes you have seen on a Saturday Night. I have posted other messages about inconsistencies on the pages dedicated to "The Brady Bunch", "Gimme a Break!" and "The Golden Girls". I would be "very" interested in what you think of any of these messages! Right after I post this message, I will go to you post about the relationship between "Nurses", "Empty Next" and "The Golden Girls" and comment on that one as well. Take care!
