Lightbulb SEASON 7: New York EPISODES CONTINUUM!!!!

What if Gimme A Break returned for a 7th year on NBC for the 1987-1988 season?



Episode Description:



138. "Marty's Party": Marty is depressed at turning 40, as Nell plans a surpris pary for him.


139. "The Jazz Club": Ernie and Mama Maybelle share the news that they both became partners in purchasing a vacant building across the street, and decide toturn it into a jazz club.


140. "Look at Me...I'm Reading": Matthew must learn how to read before the teacher decides to hold him back a grade.


141. "Grandpa's New Love": Grandpa falls for Sophia Petrillo, an old New Yorkian who visits the city. (Sophia on GG guest stars)


142. "Joey's First Job": Junior High Schooler Joey wants responsbility, so Marty gives him a job at the restaraunt.


143. "Addy's Last Dentist": Addy, fed up with Dentists, decides to date one for the last time, but finds out in the end he is really Gay, and used her to get to Marty, who he has a crush on.


144. "The Fire": Joey Accidently causesa fire in the restaurant, and Marty confesses he is broke and has no insurance.


145. "Welcome Aboard Pt I": Tim returns to New York after he decides that being a seaman isnt the career for him.


146. "Welcome Aboard Pt II": Tim decides he was only staying with Nell for a week to get to spend time with the kids becaus he really wants to get an apartment in New Jersy because they are cheaper. Nell then persuades Tim to move in.


147. "Goodbye Grandpa": Nell, knowing that Grandpa went out hours ago for a loaf of bread, is now worried she may never see him again, since there is a mobster going through New York antagonizing people. In the end, she learns that it was him, because he forgot to take his pills which calm him down in the morning.


148. "Up, Up, and Away": Nell and Marty take the boys to the park, and Nell and Marty go into a baloon and it accidently gets loose. On the ride in the sky, Nell and Marty quarrel, and in the end, reconcile, after knowing how much Marty was affected this year by the loss of his restaraunt.


149. "Mama's Big Day": Mama Maybelle decides to tie the knot with Ernie bye eloping at the neighborhood church, but while Nell goes there the sam day for choir lessons, she sees them and objects, telling them they will have a big wedding as soon as possile.


150. "James' Visit Pt I ": On her 36th birthday, Nell gets a big surprise, when James Roland arrives in town, and says he is moving into the building.


151. "James' Visit Pt II": James moves into the vacant apartment across fom Nell and Addy. Nell is asked by James if the tw could start dating again, which they agree to.



152. "Spring Break Pt I": Sam comes to New York during spring break, itroducing Nell to her steady boyfriend Jason, who has a big surprise for her, a proposal.


153. "Spring Break Pt II": Sam is stunne by the proposal, which Nell is as well. Jason explains that two will not marry until 1990, which is when the two will graduate. Nell then is more acceptable to the proposal and gives Sam and Jason her blessing.



154. "Nell the Psychiatrist": Nell's hard work in Glenlawn schools pays of when she is offered a job as a psychiatrist.


155. "For Sale": Marty, finally broke than ever,decides to put the building up for sale, but James in the end is the one who buys it, and agrees to help Marty out, who has been struggling for months.


156. "The New Marty's": Marty wants to fix the restaraunt up and start anew, and James tells him that they will be partners in it, just like Mama Maybelle and Ernie.


157. "The Grand Opening": Marty's is a big flop, until James finds a celebrity on the streets "Frank Senatra", who agrees to perform on stage at the restaraunt and the crowds sky-rocket.


158. "Pop Goes The Question": James, after reuniting with Nell and going steady for months, proposes to her.



159. "Nell's Wedding Pt I": During summer vacation, Nell has the family from Glenawn come to New York to see her finally marry James. At the family reunion, a few suprises are at store. Katie is now married to a sales clerk and 6 months pregnant, and Samantha tells Nell that she is going to elope, and not wait 2 years to get married.


160. "Nell's Wedding Pt II": Nell cat beleive the family, but understands Katie has not been near her in a year. She conratulates Katie on her marriage and her pregnancy. On the other hand, Samantha is gettingthe old heave hoe when Nell tells her it's her wedding day and not Samanthas, and that he wedding day is in 2 years. As Nells wedding progresses, Katie gives birth in a confessional to a baby girl, which she names Nell! And Samantha and her boyfriend Jason trick Nell by standing by the priest and saying they do, which means they are married as well!
