'Engagement' News for Locklear, Spade

Heather Locklear will appear on multiple episodes of "Rules of Engagement" opposite former tabloid partner David Spade.

Locklear has signed on for at least two seasons of the CBS sophomore comedy playing Barbara, sister of Megyn Price's Audrey. Barbara, freshly split from her husband, goes out on a date with Spade's Russell, confusing Audrey in some way.

The pairing of Spade and Locklear is also sure to confuse journalists who attempt to quantify the relationship between the two actors, who were seen about town last year after her split from Richie Sambora. Friends denied that Spade and Locklear were anything other than friends and Locklear has most recently been attached to Jack Wagner.

CBS offered no addition info on when Locklear's episodes will air (the show premieres on Sept. 24) or whether her part might be expanded, if successful.

Locklear's most recent credits include the Lifetime telefilm "Angels Fall" and the pilots "See Jayne Run" and "Women of a Certain Age." The "Melrose Place" and "T.J. Hooker" was most recently a TV regular on NBC's short-lived "LAX."
