Default I have just gotten "Hawaii Five-O" S1!

I just wanted to say that I have just added something different to my television collection to break the mold of all the ‘80’s series—the first season (1968-69) of CBS’s classic police series “Hawaii Five-O”, starring Jack Lord as Steve McGarrett and James MacArthur as Danny “Danno” Williams. I have just gotten through the first two outings worth—the pilot, “Cocoon”, and the first regular episode, “Full Fathom Five.” It’s shaping up to be something well worth my investment of almost $40 ($37.06 to be exact)—my mother and father got it for me from the Wal-Mart Supercenter in Simpsonville.

Another thing—this is the first CBS series to go into a television disc collection that, up to now, was made of only ABC and NBC series.

Thanks a ton, dakert-- I'm thinking of following on with S2 of "Hawaii Five-O" (1969-70) for Christmas or my 27th birthday. It is true that S2 is supposed to come out around the end of this month, isn't it?

By the way, I have just now gotten through the second and third regular episodes (third and fourth if you count the pilot), "Strangers in Our Own Land" and "Tiger By The Tail."

I've been debating on whether or not to get it. I remember liking the show but I didn't trust my memory on if it was as good as I thought. Do you recommend it?

I think that's a pretty easy question to answer. Sure, there are a few so-called "clunkers" in it, as some people have said (I haven't come across the clunkers yet), but, hey, with great menu design, great packaging, full-length outings, no music replacement, and one of the greatest openings and opening themes in the history of television, I don't see why I shouldn't recommend it. I recommend that you get it.

Thanks for the in-put, I'll probably get a copy in the next couple of weeks.
