In it she complains that Hawkeye never pays her any romantic mind. In the ep where John Orchard (Ugly John) guest-starred again (where Hawk was tending bar at Rosie's) Kelley jokingly pinched Hawk's face. If we presume the John Orchard adventure came before the ep where Kelley complains then Kelley's complaint is uneven and teh result of scriptwriters who didn't see (or at least remember) every ep concerning her since Charles joined the 4077th.

I'm not entirely sure if you're trying to pint out an error of continuity, but I'd just assume that one joking pinch compared to the vast amounts of flirting he did with the other nurses was maybe her point?

I think it was another weak or sub-par episode.
Like someone else pointed out on another board, the gall of Kelly whining about a certain man not paying romantic attention to her. Very weak treatment and script. |

For example... Kellye Nakahara was first credited as playing "Nurse Yamato," then "Nurse Kellye", then "Nurse Able", then "Nurse Charlie" before going back to "Nurse Kellye" for good. Margaret's father is said to be dead early on the series, then comes to visit her at the 4077th years later. Dr. Freeman's first name is Milton in his first episode and Sidney in all the episodes afterward. Captain Halloran, who makes his debut in "Deal Me Out", is later known as Colonel Flagg. In a later episode, Colonel Flagg remembers Sidney from the poker game, where he introduced himself as Capt. Halloran. Of course, I figured an excuse for the writers could be that "Captain Halloran" could have been an alias of Flagg's. Hawkeye makes reference to a mother and sister in the early episodes, then later is said to be the only child of his widower father. So I don't know what you're talking about....

also; Radar is seen drinking, smoking, etc. in the early eps. then in the B.J./Potter eps. he doesn't do any of that.
And in the season 1 ep. THE LONG JOHN FLAP he aggrees to give up a date with a nurse for an entire leg of lamb; but in PRIVATE CHARLES LAMB he says he takes the lamb that's going to be killed and cooked and has it shipped to his home. |

It's very unusual that a show would focus a main plot on a supporting, recurring character. But I'm glad Nurse Kellye got her due. Someone posted a while back, mentioning that Kellye and Radar were dancing together at the Officer's Club in an episode and that they would have made a cute couple.
I agree. I think a Nurse Kellye / Radar romance would have been fun. Radar was sweet and naive, and Nurse Kellye was bubbly, cute, and would have drawn Radar out of his shell. Ahh, what might have been! |

Radar, like Barney Fife in The Andy Griffith Show, was no catch. Nurse Kellye was no beauty queen and was, most would think, "average," like Radar. They would've made a great couple. |
