But with a different title but I think it would be great if TV land did a similar program discussing every tv show from each year with celebrities being interviewed. I just can't get into VH1's version because it focused on mainly MOVIES, MUSIC, other Silly sh*t. Very understandab;e since it's a music network and u can tell because u hear very little about Sitcoms-lol

The first "I Love the 70s" focused a lot more equally on movies, music, and TV. I love both sets because I'm a big fan of anything 70s, so I'm glad VH1's running this marathon today. I didn't get to see alllll of Volume 2.
But I so totally agree. They could easily run an hour-long original series where they do a run-down on everything in TV history, year by year. They could start with a 1948 of course, and each episode would be an hour long. Two new episodes would debut per week, and it'd take 30 weeks to go through the entire history of TV as an entertainment medium. There'd be interviews, clips up the ass, and oh my god, they could debut the episodes on Sundays and have special marathons of shows/specials featured in the episodes during that Sunday. Sorta like back in 2003 when they did Box Set marathons of all of the shows honored with the big awards at that year's TVLand Awards show. They did something like that in 2004 too, for the TVLand Moguls thing, which was pure greatness. But right now, my main wish as far as TVLand originals are concerned is that they do an Inside TVLand special on the daytime drama genre. Of course that'll never happen because soaps (and game shows) are rarely given their due respect when classic TV is talked about, but a boy can dream. |

The people over @ TV Land have NO imagination. You should know that by now. Your idea is too good.

Thread: TV land should have done a "I love the 70's" like VH1 Reply to Thread

They would also do Myths & Legends (which had its moments but the first episode was tame....I honestly thought it would be more exciting and tragic......rather it was like 'OK this didn't happen...let's drop it!' or 'it did happen...let's talk about it for a few minutes!' rather than get ANYTHING really into great detail). Some of the stories were interesting though and hilarious but they were done in a sloppy way IMO....and too quick.....I didn't really like it........The last couple of episodes were good though and I liked The Brady/Munchkin stories (the most hilarious thing........Barry himself talking about the incident!) and the Julia Child turkey dropping incident and all of that....good stuff....anyways that's my rant. Resume. |
