True. Addiction is a disease and I have dealt with it. I know others on this board have dealt with it and are currently going through it. Thank your f**king lucky stars (and God) that you have never had to. Like I said, only those who have dealt with it will understand. Even those who may not have dealt with it, have class to not degrade a person who has died.

Blah,blah,blah.......pure stupidity in what she did with her life, the people she surrounded herself with, and the inability to cope with life without having to make it into some drugged out reality for her to be able to make it though. She wasn't an addict when she took her first drug. So right there is the beginning of her stupidity.

Better go easy with these kind of comments. The PC police with tear you apart for making fun of a drug addict. And anyone who agrees or laughs is fair game too.

She didn't know that the combination of all of those different medications would kill her. No one bothered to tell her that it was dangerous. I love Anna, but she wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed and she probably never considered that combining medications would be bad for her.

And addict or not, it's completely disrespectful to be insulting her after her death. Grow up.

But it's alright to be disrespectful when she's alive??? Just because she's dead she's now all of the sudden she's off limits to all of dumb stuff she did while alive??? How about you showing her a "little respect". Saying she wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed is very disrespectful on your part going by your way of thinking.

Stupidity #1. Even the "dullest blade" could figure this one out.

No one bothered to tell her that it was dangerous.

Stupidity #2. Surround yourself with "yes men" and what can you expect.

I overall believe that the first time anyone takes drugs FOR THE WRONG REASON is being stupid. That I can agree with you there. I hate that kids think it's "cool" to try ecstasy, try pot, do crack, etc. Even an adult who wants to just "try and see" is of course being stupid. No doubt there. I can wholly agree with you 200 percent.

What I should have been clear in my post (and it's not blah blah blah as everyone has an opinion on the matter) is that Anna's first "time" at taking drugs was for pain. I, along with many other people have had to take strong narcotic to deal with pain and I know many people here on the board currently do so. What many can't and won't understand is that the pain can become intolerable and one may end up addicted to these meds. Or the meds don't work well enough and you get more meds and start taking a "cocktail" of meds for other reasons such as depression for dealing with the pain, depression from other reasons, til it becomes a non-stop daily diet of taking medication. One cannot be blamed when their first time taking meds was for a real medical problem, whether it is physical pain or mental issues such as depression.

I will however call anyone stupid and dumb for just wanting to try drugs just for the hell of it.

If a DOCTOR is prescribing the drugs, you'd assume that they'd be okay to take together. I think it's pretty much a rule of life that you don't mock someones death, regardless of what you think about them. How anyone can make fun of a woman who had a drug problem who was dealing with the loss of her son is beyond me.

Clearly she was a lot more intelligent then she allowed us to see. You don't go from the slums of Texas to her status by being stupid.

Make you're freakin' mind up, will ya??? You guys can't make up your mind at all about the smarts of this woman. One says she's "not the sharpest tool in the shed" and the other says she's "more intelligent than we know"??? Pick one and stick with it.

And how many different drugs did she have in her body??? And all of those were fine to take together?? And the dosage that was in her body was the prescribed amount????

When you get a chance, show me where that rule is about mocking someones death. I'd love to read that one.

To a certain degree I agree with Bobby. If she had lived a better life her son would be alive and so would she. I heard she didn't want to go to the hospital for fear of the media attention. A poor reason. I do think Betty Ford had the same thoughts but due to her family and friends she was pushed to go and look she's alive 30 years later. If I was Anna's friend I would have said Do you want to live or die. The choice is yours And she made her choice. The media got to her either way. THe only difference Anna is dead. I don't understand why she took drugs anyway. I understand with a dead of son you change but there are many parents who lose children and those don't pack up on drug bottles.

I think she got all of her meds from different doctors, so they didn't know she was on all of them, therefore the doctors could not tell her that they were dangerous to take together.

Most doctors get your medical history. and from what has been said, she had one primary doctor for the past few years.

Most doctors, unfortunately, don't know a patient's history, simply because if a patient is not honest with their physician, he/she won't know what they may already be taking. My primary physician wouldn't know my medical history unless I told them what other doctors I was seeing. I don't think Anna would tell all her doctors the truth if she knew they wouldn't give her what she wanted. And besides, with a little clout and some $$$$, you can get a doctor to prescribe you what you want. Apparently it was true with Anna, because she had a doctor mailing her meds to a p.o. box using a fake name and that IS AGAINST THE LAW.
