Default I've always been stuck on this one.....

I remember watching an ep where an 11 year old boy was arrested for murdering his neighbor's 3 year old son. I think he beat him to death and then sodomized him with a stick. This young boy had like red hair and was sort of chubby. Everyone was so stuck as to why a boy that grew up in a great home with his parents would do something like this. Does anyone know if he was tried as an adult and what was his sentence?? Thanks!!

Are you sure this was on UM? Or could you be thinking of another show? At this point, that story doesn't ring a bell.

I know. I can't recall his name but he was recently featured on CBS 48 hours, I believe. He was tried as a minor and has already had at least one parole hearing. He was denied. He still wears those glasses and he is as quiet in his demeanor as he was then. He states he is "very sorry" for what he did. He gave his reason that he was annoyed with the little boy.

It's probably not him because several of the facts (such as the glasses and the sodomy) don't tie in with the story on UM but the case of Boo Mason being accused of murdering his childhood friend Gary Grant Junior in Atlantic City is the closest case that I can think of to link to the scenerio you are describing.

Boo was arrested for the crime and confessed under duress. Even Grant's parents didn't buy into Boo's confession. Boo was mildly ******** and had red hair and was chubby as you described and claimed he hit Gary with some sort of object and killed him. However, the judge said Boo's confession was bogus and dismissed the case. Later other evidence was turned up which suggested an adult rather than a child murdered Gary Grant Jr. - The killer to my knowledge has never been found

This is the only case on UM to my knowledge that comes close to the one you are describing.

Let me know if that worked for you, if not I will sum up the article for you. Hope this helps and hope this is the case you were talking about!!

Oh God, I remember watching this case about a decade ago, on 48 Hours or Dateline.

This case is real. We watched a video about it in a class. The guy is in prison and was up for parole recently, but I don't think he got it. He is in his early twenties, but his name escapes me. I could probably email the instructor and ask the kid's name if anyone is interested.

That's the exact case I was about to mention...
I don't think any other case fits...

Or you could just click on the link several posts up and read all about it like I did.
