STERN: 'I'M BEING SET UP OVER DANIEL'S DEATH'

ANNA NICOLE SMITH's longtime attorney and partner HOWARD K STERN is fighting tabloid reports he was responsible for the death of the actress/model's son DANIEL last September (06). The lawyer admits he was stunned by claims he was seen flushing Methadone down the toilet at the home he shared with Smith in The Bahamas shortly after his partner's son was found dead in the hospital room where she delivered her baby daughter.

Daniel died of a lethal drug overdose. Stern insists there are people who are out to set him up for murder, and he's appalled by their "despicable" behaviour. Speaking out on US news show THE INSIDER last night (07FEB07), he said, "It's unbelievable. The first thing that I did was call my parents because I didn't want them to see that without me warning them first. "I know I never gave Daniel Methadone, I know I never told anyone I gave Daniel Methadone and I know I never flushed Methadone down the toilet. "For them to implicate me in Daniel's death, it's just despicable... I would never hurt Daniel. I loved Daniel. Daniel's my family." He adds, "If anybody testifies that I gave Daniel Methadone or that I flushed Methadone down the toilet, or anything like that... they're trying to set me up."

Howard seems like a genuinely nice guy, for the most part. I believe him.
The whole situation is just really sad and people are trying to make it some huge scandal.

I agree with you 200 percent. I would be screaming out too if a person or persons were trying to make me look like I harmed someone or even caused their death. I hope in the end all works out for Stern and Anna. I also hope whatshisname isn't the baby's father.

I agree. It's a very sad situation all around. Anna's entire world is falling apart. She'll never be the same again after losing a child. She was fragile to begin with. I think all involved are decent people. Larry choked up on Larry King when discussing Daniel's death, and how they were good friends and used to hang out...they were close in age. Howard knew Daniel since he was a young boy, and I highly doubt he would give him drugs.

I hope the DNA test goes Anna's way, and this buzz about Howard and the drugs goes away. That woman needs a break from all this madness. I hope she gets millions from her late husband's estate too. She's going to end up in a rubber room, or worse. How much can one person take?

I too agree she deserves some $$$$ from her late husband's estate. Exactly how much, I don't know, but she deserves something. It wasn't like that old man was feeble-minded and had the mental age of a child. He loved going to the strip clubs and he even had mistresses on the side during his marriages prior to Anna.

you know whats strange..they showed a clip of Anna Nicoles mother from months ago telling Anna to watch out who she hangs around "because she could be next". This whole thing is strange.
