Default Did anyone see the segment on missing woman Lindsay Harris on AMW?

It was on AMW last week about how a small town girl from the eastern U.S. went to Las Vegas with a hip hop promoter and she told her parents she was dancing and then she turned up missing and now it has been revealed that she was an escort.

It was just very touching how the parents said they wish they could've told her things that should've been said to prevent this tragedy from happening and how it is not in their daughter's nature to do this and they don't want he to be chalked up as another worthless missing hooker.

I did see this segment. I, too, really felt for her family. I hope they find her alive.

Yeah, I saw it myself and felt terrible for the girl and her family.

I have a goofball friend who hangs out in the casinos and seems to know all the local working women. Many of them don't walk the street. Far from it, they set up near the bars or other popular areas in the newer big casinos, and don't necessarily dress per stereotype.

Anyway, my friend gets a big kick out of introducing them to me. Once in a while I end up talking to them briefly and it's sad how many of them are very intelligent with good backgrounds. Always from somewhere else, but ended up here and can't get themselves to leave. They always claim they are looking for something else, "something better than this," but inevitably they just ask me if I'm interested. Then my friend will tell me months later the same girl is still in the same casino doing the same thing.

Here is the most recent article I could find where the authorities searched the Nevada desert for her and found nothing. They also interviewed her parents and you can tell that sadly they are resigned to the fact that their daughter is probably dead.

What's shocking is both the parents are teachers so it just doesn't fit the background that a prostitute usually come from.

It's seems like usually when an adult goes missing it's a woman. Look at Jennifer Kesse, Chandra Levy, the mystery of the 3 women in Springfield, MO, etc. etc.

It's obvious why it seems like it's usually a woman who goes missing and that's why women need to be much more careful than men when going out alone.

Yes, women need to be extra careful, especially at night. If i'm by myself at night, I carry mace and other things to protect myself. I took a karake class a few years ago also. It's horrible that you are taking chances once you walk out of your door.
