Man has searched the skies for centuries and has never come up with conclusive evidence to prove the existence of other forms of intelligent life. What if we have been looking in the wrong place? What if there were other forms of intelligent life already living among us? What if perceived natural disasters were really diversions created to conceal clandestine alien activities? When a small town at the edge of the Florida Everglades is threatened by a raging hurricane, U.S. Park Ranger Russell Varon must go to great lengths to protect the small community and his family safe. During the storm his young daughter claims to have seen mysterious lights, seemingly unaffected by the gale-force winds, floating near the water. Varon dismisses the sighting, but begins to wonder if there really was some truth to the story after his missing ex-wife turns up naked and her memory of the storm is completely gone. While the community begins to clean up after the storm and piece their lives back together, Varon begins to investigate the strange happenings as he tries to make sense of what is happening. Cast: Evan Peters as Jesse Varon William Fichtner as Sheriff Tom Underlay Eddie Cibrian as Russel Varon Aisha Hinds as Mona Gomez Alexis Dziena as Kira Underlay Kari Matchett as Dr. Mariel Underlay Ariel Gade as Rose Varon Tyler Labine as Dave Groves Lisa Sheridan as Larkin Groves If I get any other information, I'll post. |

I saw the pilot back in June but I watched it again last night. This show is very well done and with Lost as its lead-in, will do wonders for ABC at 10pm Wednesday. 10.4/16 for its premiere, easily #1 in its slot (who knew Law & Order was this vulnerable!).

ABC won each half-hour of the evening, claiming the Top 3 TV shows of the night in both Total Viewers and Adults 18-49, with the second season premiere of “Lost,” the series debut of “Invasion” and the “Destination Lost” special. * ABC produced its strongest season opening Wednesday night in 10 years among Total Viewers and in 9 years among Adults 18-49 – since 9/20/95 and 9/18/96, respectively. “Destination Lost” (8:00-9:00 p.m.) A special clip-show recapping the first season of “Lost” drove ABC to a strong No. 1 in the opening hour of Wednesday’s primetime. “Destination Lost” defeated second-place NBC in the hour -- with its high-profile series debut of “The Apprentice: Martha Stewart” -- by almost 7 million viewers (14.6 million vs. 7.7 million) and by 124% in Adults 18-49 (5.6/16 vs. 2.5/7). In fact, ABC topped the combined delivery of NBC and CBS, each with series premieres in the hour, in the key young adult sales demo (5.6/16 vs. 4.8/14 CBS and NBC combined). “Lost” (9:00-10:00 p.m.) Surging from its healthy lead-in, the second season opener of ABC’s “Lost” overshadowed its nearest time period competition by 13.7 million viewers (23.1 million vs. 9.4 million – NBC’s debut of “E-Ring”) and by 203% in Adults 18-49 (10.0/24 vs. 3.3/8 – CBS’ “C.S.I” special). * “Lost” achieved series highs in viewers, across each of the adult demographics and among teens. The show was up dramatically from its year-ago series debut, growing by 4.4 million viewers and by 47% in Adults 18-49 (18.7 million & 6.8/20 on 9/22/04). * “Lost” represents ABC’s most-watched fall drama premiere in a decade and its highest-rated among Adults 18-49 since 1996 – since 10/24/95 and 10/15/96, respectively. “Invasion” (10:00-11:00 p.m.) The series debut of ABC’s “Invasion” posted a commanding win in its time period, besting the second-place networks by 3.8 million viewers (16.9 million vs. 13.1 million – NBC’s “Law & Order”) and by 58% in Adults 18-49 (7.1/18 vs. 4.5/11 – CBS’s “C.S.I.”). * In viewers and young adults, “Invasion” produced ABC’s strongest numbers in the time period since December 2003. The show marked the Net’s strongest numbers with a scripted show in the time period in the last 5 seasons – prior to the 2000-01 season, ABC aired newsmagazines in the hour. This is one of those shows that I really wanted to like but I just didn't. It's like it tried to hard yet not hard enough (if that makes any sense). I'll probably watch the next ep to see if it finds it's way a lil bit. So far it just seems like just another body snatcher type story line, but I don't want to read into it too quick. Oh well, we shall soon see.

OUCH... it dropped significantly last night AND lost viewers as the show went on. Law and Order and CSI: NY both beat it.

Invasion still won its timeslot in adults 18-49, though. ABC wasn't expecting it to win the slot overall every week against two tough shows like this. It certainly is a BIG improvement over Wife Swap and Eyes. Law & Order was up from last week because of the cross-over episode with SVU.
I liked the episode last night, maybe better than the pilot. It's as mysterious as Lost. “Invasion” (10:00-11:00 p.m.) ABC’s “Invasion” won its time period among Adults 18-49 (5.3/14), beating out the season premiere of CBS’ “C.S.I.: NY” (4.3/11) and NBC’s “Law & Order” (4.8/12), which was a cross-over episode with “Law & Order: SVU” from the previous night. The new ABC drama also delivered the No. 1 position in the 10 o’clock hour among Adults 25-54 (6.3/15) and Adults 18-34 (4.7/13). “Invasion” stood as the No. 2 TV program of the night across each of the key adult demos, trailing only “Lost.” * On average, “Invasion” has improved ABC’s delivery in the time period by 61% in Total Viewers (14.7 million vs. 9.1 million), by 61% in Adults 18-49 (6.1/16 vs. 3.8/10) and by 67% in Adults 25-54 (7.2/17 vs. 4.3/10) over the Net’s average with regular programming last season. |

i never cared for Wife Swap, but I would rather watch reruns of Eyes over new episodes of Invasion any day of the week. |

I agree with your assessment that I really wanted to like it but I felt it
didn't really connect for me. I think there is a common thread to all of the new scifi series that have recently come out this season(Surface,Threshold,Supernatural & Nightstalker). That being, the characterization of the lead characters. What made X-files so great along with the great scripts,Scully & Mulder were likeable people that you cared about. I could relate to them!! Hello ,Hollywood, are you listening? Successful shows make it in large part to great chemistry & character developement of the lead actors. As much as I was looking forward to all of the new scifi shows,I knew what I was in for. Super Bad Dudes & very strong women(too much like men) coarse language & another overdose ad nauseum of political correctness gone wild & too much of an in your face attitude!! This will only get worse unfortunately. Where has the good acting talent gone? |

Dolfan, I feel that Invasion has a great deal of focus on character development and inter-relationships, far more than X-files ever did. Invasion, in three episodes has introduced a very interesting family dynamic.
X-files was a shippers dream, because everyone wanted Mulder and Scully to hook up, but we all knew it couldn't happen. Invasion, in three episodes has told much more of a "story" than X-files did in its frist three episodes. Don't get me wrong, X-files is my favorite show of all time, but it took time to evolve into what it became. http://www.invasion-forum.com |

Invasion fan, I agree with your assessment of the new scifi series " Invasion".
If you noticed, I didn't include this show with the other 4 new scifi series that have come out this fall. I think this series has the best chance of success because it's lead characters portray normal people that most of us can relate to & above all "care about",therefore a better chance for character developement. The other shows reflect hollywood's tiring portrayal of male leads as either insensitive macho "dudes" or shallow super hunks & female leads as bimbo super chicks. My only criticism of this series along with Surface & Threshold is all these series are basically a continuous story & not separate eps. That meaning if you miss a few eps. your'e behind the eight ball as far knowing what's going on. I liked the New Outer Limits & X-files because each eps. was a separate story so that if you missed one it didn't hurt you(Although X-Files combined individual eps with continuous story eps. A nice concept). I'm probably one of the few people who didn't want Scully & Mulder to get into a heavy relationship . I'm glad the producer(Chris Carter) showed that they cared about each other but their's was primarily a business relationship. Anything more would have been a needless distraction to the storylines. In such series as Moonlighting or Farmer's it was totally appropriate for the main 2 leads to finally get together. Not on the X-files. |

In addition to “Commander in Chief,” ABC has also picked-up “Invasion” for the full season.
A press release announcing both full season pick-ups is forthcoming. |

Invasion was a pretty good show, the last episode left you wondering about
larkin, too bad it got cancelled. Maybe they'll bring it back. |
