I remember a sitcom from the 80s that had a mother and her teenage daughter living in a loft apartment. I'm pretty sure it was in San Francisco.
I can't remember the name of the show or the names of any of the actors, but I do remember that the girl who played the daughter ended up being murdered.

Can anyone help with the name of this show?

sounds a little like My Sister Sam....

Rebecca Schaeffer was the younger sister of Pam Dawber on the show.
