I just got TBCS season 1 DVD and I'm enjoying it. I'm not a big BC fan but always liked his work on this show. As a preface to the title of this thread, I must admit I kinda chuckled to myself when folks on the good times board complained about Lou Gossett being Thelma's finance on one episode and the next season being her uncle. But, have watch these DVDs, I must ask the same question about what the producers were thinking. In several episodes Cosby's sister-in-law appears. In the last episode of the 1st season DVD, Bill is interested in a math teacher and guess what.....it's the woman who played his sister in law in the earlier episodes!! A real head scratcher.

Yea, I don't know why they did that either. I suppose it's possible they had another actress cast for the part, but in the last minute it didn't work out so they had Olga James do it.

The DVD's look great, but there are sound problems with a few episodes. Hopefully, we'll get season two in February/March '07.

I really enjoy this show. I find Cosby's charcter superior to the others he portrayed. But, maybe that's because I enjoy shows about schools/teachers? yes, there are some issues with sound on a couple episodes. I've watched every show and must say there are only 2 or 3 bummers among the group. That's a pretty good ratio.
