Default I saw some of it...

...and it brings back great memories!! I especially appreciated David Hinckley's review of the marathon in the N.Y. DAILY NEWS---he appreciated the music and "cornball comedy" as much as I did. That's more than his colleague "Mr. Teleliteracy" would, if HE'D written his own review!

I just saw this post and unfortunately missed the Hee Haw marathon. I hope they have another one. It's one of the funniest and best shows ever on TV!

I caught the marathon two weeks ago. It brought back memories. It's not the kind of show that some people think it is. It can cross all demographics and so forth. I really like the older episodes, I would watch Hee Haw when I was a kid on a Sunday afternoon when there wasn't anything else on. Got to remember, we only had 13 channels back in the 70's! LOL

It had a wide appeal. One of its strengths was its regular features, for example, the hillbillies on the porch sequence, "Hey grandpa, what's for supper", Junior Samples used cars, and many many more. I don't know, the show was just pure fun, and funny--nothing sophisticated. It always made me laugh. It conveyed the message to me of not taking life too seriously.

Even as a youngster, I had the mind to wonder, "Now why are these old men laying around when they have those young, pretty ladies on the porch behind them?"

An intriguing question, indeed, Irene.
