Hello all!
I was reading recently that another book is coming out about James Dean. This one is supposed to be a roommate of his I believe and well, it got me thinking...................has anyone else ever considered to write a book about Freddie? We all know about the book his mother wrote and it does help you get to know a bit more of what was really going on, but toward the end, Freddie was keeping alot from her. She didn't find out everything that was going, but others around him had a lil more insight at least, so has anyone else ever took the time to tell what they saw and knew of? I don't mean a sleazy, sensationalized book just to make money, I mean just a chance to maybe see another side and fill in maybe a few of the holes in his mother's book? Just wondering........... |

It could happen but would we believe it?
It's been so many years. I would take whomever wrote a book with a grain of salt. I'm sure there are stories but theres too many people who sensationalize the dead. Freddie's dead so it's easy to write lies about him. Same with James Dean. They started writing that he was a homosexual after he died. |

That's what I meant though. A book to tell what Maria's book couldn't and from someone whom we could believe. Someone who was there and wouldn't stretch the truth just to sell their book.

I think Mando would be perfect to write a book on Freddie. He knew the real Freddie & would tell the truth & not be in it for a quick buck. If he was afraid of making any money off of the book, then he could donate the profits to Freddies mom to help her out....

Yes but is more than not wanting to make money off of his memory. I remember when Isaac shared some stuff with us a while back how he said that there were things he wouldn't talk about, the painful stuff, not because he couldn't, but he said that he felt that those things were between he and Freddie and he didn't want to break the trust of a brother, even if he isn't here anymore. As much as I would love to know more, I can respect where he is coming from. And Cheryl is right, I think he would have been the only one to write such a book. I am not sure I would believe too many other people who were around Freddie. The little I got from Maria's book leads me to believe that too many people that were around Freddie had their own agendas and might not give us the whole story.
It is a good idea tho, Dani. |

Maybe his friend Nat could have given us an idea of what Freddie was like. I don't know how well they kept in touch after Freddie moved to LA but he might have be able to give us another side of Freddie.

Yeah, Lucky's right. We wouldn't want Mando to betray a confidence. I wonder if Nat kept in touch with him????
