Default Just about now it would be the end of Season 4

We'd be at around August, 1967 (AD season timelines always ended at the end of the summer). Based on what we know about what was to be for Season 4 from Jonathan Prince, Meg would be back home from California, Sam would have a serious girlfriend, Henry would re-marry and take in a deaf stepson, Roxanne would be the Bandstand hairdresser, Patty would be preparing for her senior year, Helen and Jack would be patching up a major fight over Helen's assistance to draft dodgers, JJ would be working at the spacesuit company while Beth would be re-entering Penn. Who knows what else we would have seen. On Bandstand we probably would have seen the Doors, and the Strawberry Alarm Clock. 1967 was when psychedelia peaked in Rock and Roll.

And we'd all be getting ready for Season 5: 1967-68.

Exclamation

It's very upsetting when network big wigs cancel quality shows like American Dreams and then continue to crank out mindless reality television shows, just to improve their bottom lines...

Default It's Very Sad

I think it is a shame that the NBC execs blamed this on money. We're talking about a comapny who spends meaningless dollars on promoting and producing absolute garbage. NBC is experiencing some pretty rough times right now. I actually think that a George W. "Ra Ra", Pro War speech would draw more viewers than some of the programs they're trying to sell us. American Dreams wasn't setting any records, but the ratings were very consistent. All they had to do was give it a chance on a night like friday and it could have worked out well. Plenty of shows toil in obscurity for a few seasons, but all it takes is a loyal fan base and quality storylines, and viewers will eventually make it part of their week. Proof of this is how many people have become interested in the show since it's cancellation. Anyways, let's hope NBC does the right thing and releases seasons 2 and 3 on DVD.

Wow! I haven't posted in quite a while! It feels good to be back, but I makes me miss the show a lot more. Anyway, I have noticed that all I watch on NBC anymore is the news and the Today Show(which isn't as good without Katie Couric). It seems that NBC has turned to junk to get more viewers. It seems that no one cares about the history of our nation, or at least NBC doesn't. How could it hurt a network so much to have one quality family show on the air? I miss the show, I miss the discussions we had on this board about the show, and I miss reading the spoilers. I am so tired of thinking about what might have happened. I know that me saying this will make no difference on the show what-so-ever, but I think I needed to say this. It may sound corny, but the show kind of got me away from reality. I didn't think about school, sports, church, or current events that I was worrying about while I watched this show. Just an hour each week to relax and look forward to. Make fun of me if you want, but this is a show I really miss.

Music Missing American Dreams

Hello all:

Gotta add my support to all of you who still miss AD - one of the best TV shows of all time! The least they could do is put the last two seasons on DVD, so we can watch good clear copies of the episodes.
