Hi.
I'm trying to remember the names of a missing couple that was profiled on UM a long time ago. What I remember: - It was a young couple. The Man was once the #2 skateboarder in the world. His wife's name (I THINK) was Candi (sp?). - There was a potential witness to their murder or last whereabouts by a truck driver who may have seen them in the middle of the night as he drove through the empty desert. - The truck driver described seeing a man being assaulted up against a van by two other men. There was a "screaming hysterical woman" watching the whole thing go down. Anyone remember this case? |

Doh. Now that you put in my head, I'm not completely sure.
But in thinking about it more, I THINK the skateboarder's name might've been "Travis". Cmon, ANYONE remember ANYTHING about this case? Please? |

The only thing I can think of remotely resembling this description is the Gator Anthony case, where he murdered his girlfriend. |

The case specifics sound vaguely familiar, but I don't think UM covered the case. Sorry!

But the more I think about it, the more convinced I am that it was featured on AMW. At this point, it doesn't look like the story was ever on UM (unless it was briefly presented on one of the show's "special alert" segments). I'm also convinced that the young woman who went missing was Candy Walsh. Aside from the motor's eyetwitness account that you described, I recall that one of Candy's loved ones (most likely her brother) shared the same name as the murdered son of AMW host John Walsh: Adam Walsh! (No relation, though.) I also recall that Candy, along with her male companion (or boyfriend), disappeared in 1990. And if my memory is correct, the male companion in question was eventually found dead. Although I am not 100 percent certain, Candy Walsh may have been from either Florida or somewhere in the west coast. Unforunately, much of the story is a haze because it's been a long time since I last saw this AMW story. |
