Default I'm watching the Tonight Show from 9/21/76 Right now and Freddie stated that during

season 2, the scripts were HORRIBLE and that the laugh track even was stinky. He said he wrote a couple of the scripts for season 3. So maybe that's why season 2 had bad ratings, you think?

He admitted to a laugh track? I am surprised about that. Actually, I am surprised he said anything dissing the show.

Maybe because he had thought about leaving the show since he was blowing up. He was in a movie Called Million Dollar Rip Off around 1976

Default Freddie Prinze on the Tonight Show...

did say the scripts for season 2 where not the best..and that the laugh track even booed...but then he admitted that writing shows week after week can be grueling. He did write the script for one show for season 3. I think all comedy shows have laugh tracks. I notice them all the time. I don't think Freddie was knocking the show, it's just that he was a perfectionist and wanted every show to be top notch...and I think Jack Albertson was very funny and they made a perfect team. If you watch all 3 seasons, you can see their relationship develop. Of course not every show or every actor is going to please the entire veiwing audience. But for me, the more I watch CATM, the funnier the shows are. I think it proved that Freddie was critical of his own work and he wanted to be the best at his craft.

Johnny was the one who said writing a script for a show every week can be tough not Freddie.

Default Freddie Prinze

I stand corrected...thank you. Freddie just agreed with his comment..you're right Johnny said that. Sorry, my mistake.
