Don't throw out the possibility that FOX could have the Idol Results show on Thursday next season. They ALMOST did it this season. House is a proven hit without it so they could afford it.

House is now a smash hit and last week was tv's top rated drama, even with a new "CSI". Granted, that episode was a low not seen since the first season, but still.

Fox really has to do something on Thursdays because nothing is working. The OC needs to be moved off the night or cancelled altogether. It's dead. The buzz is gone and ratings are not big enough for viewers to regain interest. I can't really say that Fox botched it, it just seemed to be one of those shows that wasn't as popular as it was made out to be and had a limited shelf life.

It'll be interesting to see what Fox does in the fall. Even this year, despite not having the Super Bowl and the baseball playoffs being down, Fox will likely win the season in adults 18-49 by a slim margin over ABC. A lot of this has to do with Fox improving the fall by solid margins (taking out the baseball factor) and running "Idol" more this season. I keep waiting for the day for "Idol"s numbers to drop and fade because, let's face it, it is going to happen eventually. Even so, Fox has managed to get some solid hits thanks to Idol (Bones & House). Fox really needs to get more aggressive on Thursdays and try to build something there, and give Fridays up to reality series (Nanny 911/Trading Spouses has worked really well on the night, surprisingly) since nothing has worked there. It also needs to build Sundays back up.

It's annoying. It's up this season over last. I hope I live to see it fade.

I completely agree about the O.C. and about Fridays.

I think we'll all be dead by the time AI fades. I think one reason it stays so strong is because it only airs for half the year.

My idea is Performances on Wednesday, Results on Thursday. House does just fine without Idol, and FOX can try and get a compatitable show for 8pm Tuesday(maybe put Bones there).

Have Idol at 8 on Wednesdays and launch a new show after it(two comedies or a drama or reality, NEW SHOWS, not tired old shows no one will watch).

Idol Results could go just about anywhere on Thursday... likely at 8 or 9(my gut says 8, but I could see FOX putting it at 9), and then launching a new show after it.

That doesn't mean it'll have 30 million viewers in 6 years though. Of course... I didn't think it would be stronger than ever now, so

Oh and the results show tonight was CRAP. There was no reason for it to be an hour, and I only watched the last half-hour and it still had WAAAAAAAAAAAYYYY too much filler. It was useless and a waste of time.

NBC has renewed all 3 Law and Orders.. Criminal Intent will probably be saved until Mid-Season, and NBC has also renewed the trio of Medium, Las Vegas and Crossing Jordan. I think the Crossing Jordan renewal was good on NBC part since it was rumored to be canceled due to being slaughtered by Greys Anatomy, hopefully on a new night Crossing Jordan will do well.

FOX has picked up Til Death and Vanished. Ill defiently check out Til Death, Vanished is up in the air.

I never thought Crossing Jordan was in any big trouble. It's NBC's biggest hit on Sunday nights despite Grey's Anatomy and Jill Hennesey said months ago that she thought NBC would hold the series back until mid-season after football was over so she didn't think it was in any trouble. The fact is NBC doesn't have as many big hits as CBS or ABC so they have to keep all they can get.
