One more time!
![]() I read too recently that Chris Farley's image is going to be used in an anti drug campaign. His family has approved of this because they want for people to see Chris as more than just his death and to learn from his mistakes. Would any of you object if Freddie's image had been used in a similar fashion? Do you think it could have changed the cloud that seems to hang over his name? Could such a move help to bring Freddie the person to light more? I'm just curious as to what you all think of this. |

Maybe, but I think more than an anti drug message, Freddie's tragic death would be better served if it spoke to the problem of depression and treating it with alternative therapies instead of just resorting to drug therapy which can get out of control.

I agree with Luckymama. I would rather see Freddie's image be protrayed as a advocate for depression..because that is what led to the drugs to begin with. Perhaps people would look at Freddie's death in a whole new light if they were educated a little more.

Also as maybe an advocacy for the suicidal tendencies that often accompany severe depression. Even though I think Freddie didn't really intend to take his own life, he obviously thought about it....
I've got an elderly patient who is dying and just placed on Hospice care today, and his daughter is also dealing with the recent suicide of her grandson, a few days ago! I'm so profoundly saddened for her and for anyone who takes their own life because of severe depression! Depression is a very serious disease! Enough's enough! |
