With the unveiling of the A&E reality series Rollergirls, I was wondering if anyone remembered a short-lived sitcom with the same name. The show had a short run in 1978 and starred Terry Kiser as Don Mitchell, owner/GM of the fictional Pittsburgh Pitts
The Pitts were played by Rhonda Bates, who played Mongo Sue, Candy Ann Brown as J.B., Marcy Hanson as Honey Bee, Joanna Cassidy as Books and Marilyn Tokuda as Pipeline. Also on the show was James Murtaugh as opera commentator turned rink announcer Howie Devine. |

I have them all (all 4 of them) from NBC. Not a great show.

...it wasn't THAT bad. But when David {"Mr. Teleliteracy"} Bianculli of the NEW YORK DAILY NEWS discusses "bad" TV shows in his column, he usually brings THIS one up, as if he has a personal vendetta against it! He and I have different attitudes about what's "bad" in television...and sometimes he goes too far...... you should hear him about "GILLIGAN'S ISLAND" and "THE BRADY BUNCH" and "FANTASY ISLAND"...to name but three he LOATHES.
I LOVE them!!! Don't get me started on him....*bleeaah!* |
