Janet was having a terrible day. It was the 2 year anniversary of the crash that took her friends life. She had wanted to spend the whole day in bed. Life had other plans though. She awoke to the song "If Only" by Tiffany playing on her alarm clock. It made her think of her friends and what she lost. It made her cry more than she ever thought possible.

By the end of the song Janet had decided that she was going to end her life. She was tired of the constant pain. Nothing she did could get rid of the pain inside her heart. It was a constant reminder of what she did. The only way she would be free was to end it all. She had made the decision to do it that day. She packed her clothes and walked out of the dorm and into the bright sunlight.

Terri had heard the same song on the radio. She was having a bad day. She had found out that she was going to have a baby. It wasn't something she wanted, but she was happy and was going to tell Jeff about it. She smiled as she thought about him. She loved him so much. She pulled into the parking lot of his apartment and got out. She walked up to the door and knocked. Jeff answered the door and was not happy to see her.

"What are you doing here Terri?"

"Um, I have something to tell you honey."

"Couldn't it have waited until later?"

"No, it couldn't. I wanted to tell you that I am having a baby."

"Your what?"

Jeff was not happy with her. His face had turned beat red and his fists were clenched at his side. Terri could tell that he was going to blow at any second. She couldn't have been more correct. She just never guessed how far he would go.

"Terri, come inside."

Once she walked inside her hell began......

Sorry it has taken so long to update this. Had a small case of writer's block going on. LOL!!

Jack had bought a bouquet of flowers for her. He walked up to the house and knocked on the door. He waited for a few minutes and she finally answered the door. She smiled and said "Jack we have to talk."

He walked inside and stood in the hallway for a minute and finally she said "We have to stop seeing each other."

He simply stared at her. Finally he said "Why?"

"I'm moving to another state and besides that, I'm pregnant and can't have...."

"Well, if it's my baby then..."

"What kind of life could you provide for me and a baby? You are still in high school Jack. No, it's best if we say goodbye and leave it at that."

Jack simply stared at her.

Janet was heading to a homeless shelter. She was planning on donating all of her clothes to them. She walked up to the person who was in charge and handed him her suitcase. He had a kind smile and looked like a nice person. He stared at her for a minute and finally said "Are you okay miss?"

Janet shook her head and backed up. She didn't want to talk to anyone about her life. She was heading out of the building when she ran into a bubbly blonde. Literally. The girl merely laughed and said "Do you know my cousin?"

Janet smiled the first real smile for the first time in a long time. She shook her head and said "No, I'm afraid not."

The blonde held out her hand and said "I'm Chrissy! Chrissy Snow! Actually my real name is Christmas, but my friends call me Chrissy!!"

Janet took her hand and said "I'm Janet! Janet Wood!!"

Chrissy took her hand and shook it and said "You look sad! Let's go sit down in here and talk."

Janet started to refuse, but decided that maybe making a new friend would help heal her broken heart. If only for a little while.

Terri was inside Jeff's house. He slapped her across the face. He then proceeded to give her the worst beating ever. She curled up into a ball on the floor. He kicked and punched her until she was unconcious. When she woke up, she was in the hospital. Jeff was nowhere to be found. The doctor that was attending to her finally came in.

"Well, Miss Alden, your a very lucky lady!"

"I am?"

"Yes!! If a bus driver hadn't seen you on the sidewalk then...."

Terri tuned him out. The last memory she had was Jeff beating her until she blacked out. She didn't know how she had gotted onto the street. Maybe she never would. One thing was certain. She needed to get far away from Jeff!! He must never find her.

She finally croaked out "The baby?"

"Is very lucky! With the beating you took, your lucky the baby survived."

She smiled sodly and made the hardest decision of her life. After the doctor left she picked up the phone and called the airline. She bought a one way ticket to California! He must never find her. Her life depended on it.....

Jack had decided at that moment that he no longer believed in love. From now on, he was not going to trust his heart to anyone. Jack Tripper was going to play the field and have as much fun as possible. He graduated from High School and enrolled in cooking school. The school was in Santa Monica. So he said goodbye to his family and friends, and set off for his new life. He smiled on the outside, but was crying on the inside.

Janet let her new found friend take her to her apartment. She smiled as Chrissy introduced her to her other roommate. Eleanor was just as sweet as Chrissy. Janet smiled as Chrissy and Eleanor talked about their jobs. Then Chrissy turned to Janet and said "We are looking for another roommate. The last girl was, well, strange."

Janet laughed and said "I don't know. I have to find a job."

Eleanor looked at Janet and said "How do you feel about flowers?"

Janet smiled and said "I love flowers. In fact, I used to have a small garden back home."

Eleanor smiled at Chrissy and then said to Janet "I think I know the perfect place for you to work."

Terri packed a few clothes. She kissed her mom and dad goodbye. Her sister Sam was at school. She needed to make a quick escape. Her parents didn't realize that she was going to have a baby. If it was up to her, they never would.She rushed to the airport and boarded the first plane. She landed in LA later that day. The first thing she did was enroll in nursing school. Despite everything she still wanted to be a nurse. That was her dream. The next thing she did was to get settled into the dorm. She laid down on the bed and closed her eyes. Suddenly she felt at peace. For the first time in months she wasn't afraid.

She would decide later what to do about the baby that was growing inside of her. For now, all she wanted to do was sleep.......
