Why would a Mother say something like this to her Son? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

In one of the eps, Clifton was feeling down because his friends was teasing him for dating a unattractive women. So his mom says this to make him feel better-

"Clifton, beauty is in the inside. Your Father was Ugly Too but he was a Very nice man. So always remember that a good disposition doesn't Sag and your sense of humor doesn't get wrinkles"

This has to be the stupidest mother and Son moment in TV History.

PS-And could mama really call anyone ugly?-lol
