Mystery mid 80's sitcom - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Hi

This is going to seem strange but......When I was about 10 I can remember a US TV show, shown here in Britain. It was from the mid-80's. The opening sequence showed a man jogging near the beach in LA and breaking a vase on a "market stall", so he bought the vase and when he got home there was a genie inside. It was a comedy, it was a half hour show (or less), I don't know whether it qualifies as a "sitcom". For the life of me I can't remember what the show was called and who the actors were. No one seems to remember it.

Any idea's?

I'm guessing it's "Just Our Luck." The genie was a black guy named Shabu.
