Default Robert Blake Civil Verdict in...

Robert Blake Civil Suit Verdict
Robert Blake found liable for wife's death, ordered to pay $30M

A jury has found actor Robert Blake liable for his wife's 2001 shooting death — a decision that contradicts the acquittal he won at his criminal trial in March. The jury ordered Blake to pay $30 million in damages. Check Courttv.com for the latest updates on the verdict and more updates on the Blake case.

BTW: I know he is guilty...asked why he had gun residue on his hands the night his wife WAS SHOT...because he plays with BB guns and other play guns alot. yeah RIGHT!!!

That was a dumb excuse. I don't think a BB gun is going to leave the same residue as a real gun.

I don't, however, see how he can possibly pay $30 million! He is a celebrity, but far from being a rich celebrity.

I can confirm that. The residue left by a firearm is caused by nitrocellulose [among a few other things]... In English that means modern gunpowder.

BB guns, or airguns as they are properly known, do not use gunpowder of any kind. They use compressed air, CO2, or in some cases just springs to propel the projectile.

There is no way in hell an airgun is going to leave gunpowder residue.

And even if he said he was 'playing' [not going to bring that issue up] with other guns, replica, non-firing or otherwise, the simple fact is you aren't going to get enough gunpowder residue on your hands from just handling a firearm of any kind, you have to shoot it, it's that simple.

Now, he could have said something else... like "My shampoo leaves an odd residue that set off the gunpowder test", while still bull$#!+, that'd still get him further than claiming it came from an airgun.

I don't see why I care, let them reposses everything he owns and kick him in the street, it's still not justice unless it ends with him at the end of a rope.

I never said that I believe his BS story abt the gun residue. The fact that he said such malarkey is absurd. He is basically admitting he fired the murder weapon because he came up with a lame ass excuse that he plays with different firearms, his words, "it reminds me of my childhood".

I, as a juror, would have questioned the fact that he had gun residue at all the particular evening his wife was shot. I doubt very highly anyone but this evil man committed this crime. It's O.J. all over again.
