"In Living Color" Question - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I was watching In Living Color last night ( I loved watching this show back in the dayz), anyhow, there was this sketch making fun of this real-life black woman named Sharazadi (?not sure of the spelling, or the pronunciation) she is an author who appeared on Phil Donahue and other talk shows back in the 80's and made controversy with a book abt how to be a submissive woman (regarding black women, I believe). She was known also for wearing this massive gold thing on her head. I don't know the proper name for this, it's not a hat, but for argument's sake that's what I am gonna call it. Egyptians wore this back in the ooooollllllldddddd days. Hers also had like a gold snake embedded on it. Anyhow, I was wondering, what is that lady's real full name? I wonder what happened to her. She stirred up alot of controversy with her books.

On the sketch last night they made fun of her by telling men to slap their wives, cheat on them, etc.
