One of the greatest TV one-year wonders was "Nanny & The Professor". I watched every episode of the series. Too bad it wasn't a
long-running sitcom. Here is the cast: Juliet Mills Richard Long David Doremus Trent Lehman Kim Richards The series ran from 1970-1971 on ABC. Do you think Juliet Mills brought Hayley and John to see their daughter making TV history? |

I was twelve when it first aired and loved the show too. I guess that's about how old the character Hal was. After reading the following post, I was only eleven and a half.

actually the series lasted 3 seasons. first season was winter 1970(15 episodes), second season was fall 1970(24 episodes), third season was fall 1971(15 episodes). 54 episodes total. yes, this was one of my favorite shows as a kid. i was lucky to have recorded most of them, a few years back. i think i'm only missing 2 episodes

I've been a fan of Kim Richards since childhood, so I was aware of this show, but only recently did I get a chance to see it for the first time. I ran across an old tape (with four episodes) made directly from the studio masters: Nanny Will Do (the pilot), The Games Families Play, I Think I Shall Never See A Tree, and An Element of Risk. I loved the show -- it was in the same vein as BEWITCHED and I DREAM OF JEANNIE. It's also amusing to see the tags before each episode advertising NANNY AND THE PROFESSOR -- IN COLOR! Weren't all series in color by 1970?

Pretty much all of prime-time was in color by the fall of 1966, but they continued the "In Color" tags until 70 or 71. Think about how long shows kept saying "In Stereo" in the early 90s, even though most shows were in stereo by then. The same thing will happen with shows in HDTV, I bet.
