None of the eps are under 20 min or over 22 min.
Out of the 10 eps, the Longest Episode is "Mama Gets Fractured" from season 1 Mama Gets Fractured-(22:36) Clifton's Dubious Romance-(22:00) Earl's Girl-(22:30) Trial and Error-(22:27) A Date With Judy-(22:18) Weekend Daddy-(22:28) A Man from the Past-(21:47) Get your Kicks on Route 22 and 76-(22:07) Clifton's Causual Fling-(21:15) Last Haircut-(21:24) |

At least you'll get Clifton's Casual Fling unedited for S2.

I really would have preferred the eps that TV GUIDE hyped up to be unedited. |

You've seen this episode already? What did you think about it? I haven't seen it yet, but the description says a 94 year old man dies in the barber's chair. Sounds a little like A Place To Die from GT. |

Yeah the guy dies and they were scared and didn;t know what to do. That episode was actually the last one I recieved in a trade before the DVD was released. The thing that seperates this episode from A place to die is the man who died in the barbershop was dead when the episode started-lol |

None of the episodes of the show were cut except for both the beginning and end themes. But all of the episodes are intact and full. This is one of the reasons why the episodes look shorter than they are,and also because the commercials are left out, which takes up alot of time. All of the episodes are time sped, meaning they are the complete running times, but they are sped up,which is alot better than being cut,and deleted. They are time sped because the commericals were left out.
So in all reality without all of the commercials this would make all the episodes seem alot shorter than they really are.Without the commercials they run anywhere from the 22 mink mark to the 23,24,and 25 minute mark.I really don't think that anyone was buying the DVD's for the theme song which is the only thing that was cut.I would be mad now if some of the episodes were cut,but they weren't.The copies to me look alot better than what was said about them.I didn't see any glitches at all in any of the episodes.Maybe your thinking of tape drop? |

Watching some of the episodes on disc 1, season 1, I noticed on one episode (Clifton's Dubious Romance) there was the sound of applause right before the opening credits. It's lasts about 2 seconds but it gives the impression that there was some footage before the credits on that episode, that there was some sort of audience reaction to something. It just starts with the opening credits. The next episode began with a clean opening credits segment, no audience sound. That leads me to believe that there are edited episodes on this set. Quote:

Even if they used shorter opening and closing themes, that wouldn't account for a nearly 3 minute difference between the episodes. I believe they used atleast 4 different opening themes and 3 closing themes.
1st opening - 1:36 1st closing - :30 2nd opening - :23 2nd closing - :30 3rd opening - :43 3rd closing - :55 4th opening - :53 I'm not positive, but the big 1:36 theme may have only been used in the pilot episode and maybe some early 1st season episodes. What do you mean by 'sped up'? Do you mean time compressed? |

Exactly what I mean by time sped, time compressed is right. They started doing that back in the 90's of tv shows that were shown in repeats. This way you can see the whole show, rather than have them being cut.
