Default New Spinoff Debate

Out of the Blue was not a Spinoff of Happy Days because.......

The character Random never appeared on Happy Days until Out Of The Blue premired on ABC. Out of the Blue premeired on ABC 2 weeks before Random appeared on Happy Days which made it a crossover Episode with Happy Days. Random never was seen on Happy Days before the Fall of 1979

Out of the Blue was not a Spinoff of Mork and Mindy because......

No character of Out of The Blue never appeared on Mork and Mindy before Sept of 1979. Mork made a Guest apperance in the first episode of Out of The Blue to help launch the show which made it a crossover episode with Mork and Mindy.

Blansky Beauties is a tricky one. Since the character, Nancy Blansky, did appear on Happy Days before the show Blansky Beauties" premiered on ABC. It was said on Happy Days that Nancy Blansky was Howard Cunningham's Cousin so i guess we can call BB a Happy Days Spinoff

If Out Of The Blue was a spin off, it will be from Mork & Mindy.

I just don't see the connection between Happy Days and Out Of the Blue.

Mork made his presense on Out of the Blue in the first episode.

I agreed with u about Blansky Beauties, a Happy Days spin off.

Out of the Blue wasn't a spinoff, It just had a lot in common with Mork and Mindy.

Even Pat Morita's HAPPY DAYS character was on Blansky Beauties.

I considered it to be a Happy Days spin off.

Out Of The Blue is confusing and sketchy at it best!

to make Out Of the Blue successful, they wanted to use a popular shows (Happy Days/Mork & Mindy) as a launch pad for Out Of the Blue.

I can see how you would think that because most times when there is a crossover, it's between a spinoff and parent show. Like Cosby Show/Diffrent World, Facts of Life/Diffrent strokes

Now here are examples when there were crossover between shows that were not spinoffs/parent show

Hello Larry/Diffrent Strokes
Family Matters/Full House

I wasn't alive then, but I've heard/read that it was a scheduling problem that made that happen, and that the HD episode with Random was supposed to originally air before "Out Of The Blue" premiered.

Well if that's true, it would have defintely been a spinoff
