Hatcher leaving 'Desperate Housewives'?
Saturday, July 9 2005, 10:10 BST -- by Daniel Kilkelly ![]() Teri Hatcher has hinted that she may consider leaving Desperate Housewives. The actress, who plays Susan Mayer on the hit US TV show, wants to move on to other projects in the near future. "I just think everything comes to a natural close at some stage, doesn't it?" Hatcher explained during a radio interview. "And the world of film does sound appealing again." Hatcher's contract with the show expires next year. http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/article/ds22460.html |

Uh.... no. She's the star of the show(even more than the other women). If she leaves, the show is done. ABC will not have that.

I can't see that happening this soon - afterall, wasn't it DH that resurrected her career again? Surely she's heard of another actress making a huge mistake of leaving a hit t.v. show for a "movie career"....Miss Shelly Long!!
Sounds like the article is strictly for publicity. |

I wouldn't be surprised. She has always come across as a bitch, and this is as big of a bitch as you can get.
"everything comes to a natural close"?? Ohh, sort of like her career before DH. |

Now that's not true, if anyone's the b*tch it's Marcia Cross Yeah kinda like Marcia's career was stagnant after Melrose and before DH ![]() That article isn't true, it's just gossip, she's not leaving, it would be career suicide if she did

But Marcia knows she's on a hit show, and she wouldn't think of leaving. Hatcher's just got a big head. And please, stop with the smilies. They're fine if you're going to be funny, but ending every post with them is just passive aggresive. |

I don't know if that article is true or not. Personally I doubt it, I'm not that lucky. If Teri does end up leaving, she's stupid. I don't understand why actor's on very popular shows (ER for instance) decide to leave.

I doubt she'll be leaving anytime soon. Remember David Caruso? He thought he'd make it on the big screen after one year on NYPD Blue and he had to come back to TV to restart his career.

if any of the DH actresses left, it'd be career suicide.
Before the show started, Teri, Marcia and Nicollette were all big hasbeens, this show has given them all the chance at being A-list. Considering Teri is blunt that she was washed-up before DH started, I don't think she'd suddenly decide now to leave the show to go for a movie career. If she left for a movie career, it'd be Shelley Long and David Caruso all over again, Teri's been in the business long enough that she oughta know roles like Desperate Housewives don't come every day. |

Anyways, from what I understand, the general consensus in Hollywood today is that starring in a hit TV series is better than starring in a hit movie. The movie business is in a downslide, while television continues to rise - in both ratings and quality.

Exactly - maybe if they're playing "character" roles like Kathy Bates, but not a pretty one. It would be career suicide if she did. She'd be back pitching Radio Shack garbage in nothing flat!
