I found this article this morning. Do ya'll think this will be a new character or one of the current characters?

A new character for what? The article talked about on April 26th, the storyline will deal with Shelly and her friends going to get tested. Shelly's new boyfriend is the one who ends up convinces her to get tested. Are you asking if Grant, played by Sharif Atkins will be a new character? Or are you asking if Grant, Shelly or one of her friends will end up having a positive test result?

Brown's incredible work with HIV-positive teens inspired the producers to develop an HIV-positive character, who is living life to the fullest.

The above is from the article. So, I am wondering who is this HIV-positive character, one of the original 6 characters, Grant or will they be bringing in a another new character. Perhaps Grant is going to become a regular.

Oh, okay. I bet Grant might end up being the HIV-positive person, and I'm guessing that one of the six characters might get a scare.

Or Grant thinks Shelly is positive. She's not really his style.

I haven't seen this show in about 4 months or so. Is Sharif Atkins' character a roughneck type? That would seem to be the type of dude that Shelly/Eve would be drawn to. Sharif's character on ER was anything but.

He is pretty much like his character on ER but maybe more uptight.

Watching him this past week it didn't seem like he was acting (he seemed dry). Brian Hooks is the best thing about this series.

Sharif had a short lived series called Hawaii. I never saw it but I would have like to see how different he was from his ER character buut before I knew it the show was GONE! Oh Well.

He's probably only here on a trial basis: if he clicks with viewers he might be hired for more appearances, but from the little I saw he seemed lacking in personality and there just as a plot device to maybe bring Eve and JT back together or something. I don't know this guy's work on ER, although I saw an episode a few weeks ago where he comes back from Iraq and hits the sheets with Parmender Nagra. Funny how some actors can get work so consistently, but the roles he's getting don't seem to be written to show off any real acting ability.

The TVGuide preview of this episode says that J.T. realizes that he still loves Shelly. Now the question is, will Grant be back to be competition for J.T. next seaon.
