Post Chico and the Man was in syndication during the early 80's

Chico & The Man was syndicated in the early part of the 1980's. On my cable system it was shown on WNEW-5 out of New York City. The station is now known as FOX-5 (WNYW). In the summer of 1981, Chico & The Man was shown at 6:00p.m. In the fall of 1981, it was moved to a 1:30 p.m. timeslot and I can remember staying home from school one day and watching it. The last time that I can remember seeing Chico & The Man on television was in 1982.

I was out of school by then. Didn't realize that it was on in NYC then. I suspect it wasn't on in many areas...

It was also on in Washington DC in the early 80's and on WWOR in New York in the late 80's or early 90's. TV Land is the first channel to show it nationally.

In the early 80's, I was just getting out out of high school (I graduated in 1983)

At the time I was living in Indiana and all of our stations were from Chicago. So, sadly, I never got to see CATM when it was aired in the early 80's.

Looking back now, I seem to remember that CATM played in my area on NBC at 11:00 or 11:30 a.m (central time) sometime around '78 or '79. I remember watching it when I was on summer vacation. I don't think it ran too long tho. That's the last time I saw CATM until TV Land started showing the episodes.

That must've been when it was on here in VA the 11:30 am re-runs just after Freddie died. I remember I got up just in time to see that. I'd eat breakfast & watch CATM.

WPWR TV Chicago showed it quite a lot in the 80's.

I remember the NBC daytime reruns; I was in sixth grade. One day, the power was out at my middle school due to lightning striking a transformer the night before, and when they said we’d be sent home early if it didn’t come on by a certain time, and I thought “Cool, I can watch Chico and the Man.” Unfortunately, it did.
