Default Theme Song On Loving By Jeffrey Osborne & Some Woman

I never watched Loving but i liked the theme song in the late 90's & a few yrs ago by r&b singer Jeffrey Osborne & some woman. Does anybody know the woman's name who sang with him? When did Loving get cancelled? I know the show got changed over to Port Charles.

"Loving" was canceled in the summer of 1995 when a serial killer came to the fictional town of Cornith and killed half the cast. After that several of the remaining cast members were taken and added to a revamped version of the show called "The City". The City was a hipper, more mordern version of the show set in the trendy city of So-ho, New York... To add flash to the show The character of Tess (played by Catharine Hickland, currently playing Lindsay Rappaport on OLTL) opened a modeling agency and two characters opened a detective agency... The show however sunk in the ratings and was canceled in 1996. To end the series there was a serial killer brought on who killed many cast members in bizarre ways... one character, Jocylen was knocked out and plastered into a wall, stuff like that... Interesting note, after "The City" was canceled its set was given to a then brand new talk-show called "The View", it still remains as the set of The View.
The City was also unique in terms of camera work, it was FILMED, not taped and used weird angels and stuff.

"Port Charles" did not start until 1997 and was NOT A "Loving" Spin-off AT ALL.. it was actually a spin-off of "General Hospital". The original focus was that of several interns at the hospital, supposedly a different floor... Lucy Coe and Kevin Collins transported from "GH" to "PC", Former "GH" character Scott Baldwin was brought on, after a ten-year absence from soaps... PC was mostly a tradional soap for its first few years...

It was in 2000 with the addition of the 13-week story archs that "PC" began tackling more supernatural stories.

If u like the archs, Soapnet is currently replaying the archs right now. they are currently showing the first arch "Port Charles: Fate".

Hope that helps..

Don't know the name of the women in the song. sorry.

The City was a very bad spinoff of Loving. It did not even last 2 years. Port Charles had a decent 6 year run, I was surprised ABC canned it.

As for the Jeffrey Osborne song, it was great, I loved the intro, but that would not match the style today.

Does anyone know if ABC will ever start up another 30 minute soap opera??? In most major markets Port Charles did not air in the daytime, instead they aired it real late at night because a lot of ABC stations aired Local News for an hour and then went straight to All My Children. That is partially the reason that Port Charles got canned was due to the fact a lot of stations did not air it.
